Starting Thursday, July 7, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin repaving about 7.5 miles of westbound I-94 from 21 1/2 Mile Rd. to 29 Mile Rd. between Albion and Marshall.

MDOT says the $8.9 million project will include ramp improvements, concrete pavement repairs, a median cable guardrail and right of way fence, as well as a shallow deck overlay on 22 1/2 Mile Rd. and 26 Mile Road.

During the repaving, you can expect single lane closures from 6am Monday through 2pm Friday. Both lanes will be open to traffic on weekends.

The work is scheduled to be complete in November 1, but both westbound I-94 lanes are expected to be reopened to traffic by mid-September.
