Christmas tree collection begins December 26th

Will you need a place to dispose of your Christmas tree after the holiday?

The Calhoun County Road Department (CCRD) will be accepting live Christmas trees at their Marshall garage, located at 13326 15 Mile Road in Marshall, Michigan. Christmas trees may be dropped off at any time beginning Wednesday, December 26, 2012. The last day for drop off is Friday, January 25, 2013.

Please make sure that all decorations, lights and tinsel are removed from the trees.

The road department will use its brush chipper to cut up the trees for compost or to reuse the chips. Wood chips are available to residents; however, you must provide the containers, loading and transportation.

Please call 269-781-9841, extension 241, for more information.
