Beginning May 29, 2011, and continuing through June 24, 2011, the Community Compost Center located at 19646 Division Drive (just outside of the City of Marshall) will be open 24 hours a day to assist residents with the cleanup of trees and other yard waste.
We ask that logs larger than 12 inches in diameter be placed in a separate pile, and that limbs are less than 8 feet in length.
No construction waste, shingles or other debris will be accepted. The compost center is for yard waste only.
The compost center is open to assist Calhoun County residents only, and is not intended for commercial business use.
There is another option available, if space allows. Calhoun County always encourages residents to look into starting a compost pile in their back yards when possible, and to use grindings as mulch for gardens.
If residents need additional information or need directions to the center, please call (269) 781-9841 ext. 241 or click here.
The Community Compost Center is a partnership between Calhoun County, Calhoun County Road Commission and Board of Public Works, Solid Waste Management Fund and the City of Marshall.
