Free electronics recycling collection in September

Do you have old computer equipment, a television or other electronics that you need to get rid of? The Calhoun County Solid Waste Department is giving residents the opportunity to recycle televisions and other electronics, instead of trashing them.

A free, one day collection for these materials will be held on Saturday, September 8th, from 9am – 1pm at the Calhoun County Road Commission’s garage, located at 13300 15 Mile Road, in Marshall.

Items accepted include televisions, computer monitors, CPU’s, keyboards, mice, printers, VCR’s, DVD players, stereos, radios, MP3 players, speakers, cell phones, PDA’s, copy and fax machines, video game systems and other electronic items that have a cord. Items containing refrigerant and smoke detectors will NOT be accepted. All items can be recycled for FREE.

Again, please do not bring items containing refrigerants or smoke detectors. If you are a business bringing a large quantity of items, please call 269-781-9841, ext. 241, at least one week before the event, as fees may apply.

This event is sponsored by the Calhoun County Solid Waste Department (through an agreement between Calhoun County and C & C Landfill), Calhoun County Road Commission and Valley City Environmental Services.
