The Calhoun County Road Department (CCRD) is now accepting applications for four supervisors.
Under the general direction of the Superintendent(s), this position is responsible for providing direct supervision to road workers, as well as, mechanics and related non-supervisory positions as assigned. Supervises the front line operations, coordinates work schedules and assignments, evaluates and manages performance, and assists with activities, programs, and projects.
Starting wage: $52,553 – $64,521
Minimum Requirements: The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of an Associate’s Degree, along with two to four years of experience in the road construction industry. Any combination of related experience and education will be considered. Supervisory skills necessary to develop and maintain a safe and positive working environment for Road Department personnel. Supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred. Valid MI vehicle operator’s license with a Class B (with air brake endorsement) Commercial Driver License required. Class A preferred. Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude, strong work ethic, and to handle matters with others in a courteous, respectful, responsive, and effective manner.
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is required.
Location: Road Department – Marshall
Frequent travel is required within the County. Occasional travel outside the County may be required.
