Railroad crossing at 25 1/2 Mile Rd. and Michigan Ave. closed

The railroad crossing at 25 1/2 Mile Rd. and Michigan Avenue in Sheridan Township will be closed permanently beginning on Friday, July 10, 2015.

The closure comes as the result of a 2014 Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Diagnostic Study Team Review.

The stretch of road between Michigan Ave. and B Dr. N is in poor condition and only has farm field on either side of the road.

The Calhoun County Road Department (CCRD) will be constructing a cul-de-sac south of the railroad crossing, creating a dead end road for any northbound traffic on 25 ½ Mile Road between B Dr. N and Michigan Ave.
