Battle Creek, MI – Phase One of the Calhoun County Justice Center paving project was completed on time yesterday. Today, October 6, 2016, crews will begin the second phase of milling and paving of the north public parking lot (yellow lot on the drawing), of the Justice Center, located at 161 E. Michigan Avenue, in the City of Battle Creek. The parking lots, which are undergoing a makeover, have construction work scheduled in three phases. The paving of this second phase is expected to be completed by October 15.
The third phase of paving is expected to begin on October 14, and will conclude with the resurfacing of the southeast lot (red lot on the attached drawing). The entire paving project is expected to be completed on October 16, 2016, weather permitting.
Visitors and staff are advised to park in the Division Street lot and the East Michigan Avenue lot, behind the jail while paving is being completed for these last two phases.
Any vehicles left in the restricted areas of the parking lots during this paving project will be towed. Signs will be posted, identifying the restricted areas.
The Justice Center parking lot improvement project is funded by Calhoun County as part of its capital improvement program for facilities.
